ABOUT US

AKA delivers site-specific designs responsive to people, climate and place.  We provide socially, economically and environmentally responsible design whatever the purpose or application.

Our team has a diverse range of skills and experience, capable of providing a full range of design services. AKA offers mentoring and assistance to emerging designers to enable them to hone their skills while working on their own private projects.

AKA has successfully worked across a range of scales and building types including new residential, alterations and additions, community, commercial and joinery projects.  We are currently able to assist you in solving your design problem.  Please contact us for further information or to arrange an initial meeting.

what we do

Celebrate the connection to place: site, landscape, and climate.

Incorporate passive solar design principles and sustainable practices.

Create humble but comfortable spaces with a focus on thermal performance.

Select materials to be durable, economical, and beautiful - contrast the rough with the refined.

Design for people, with people in mind. And dogs.

Collaborate with our clients, consultants and builders – and value their input.

We ask questions, and we listen.
